EU funding for H2 project Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor

The joint project of the European transmission system operators (TSOs), Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor (NBHC), in which Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Ontras Gastransport GmbH (ONTRAS) are involved, is being funded with around 6.8 million euros as part of the EU Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme, according to an announcement on 5 February.
Crude Steel Production in Germany: 2024 Remains at Recession Level

In 2024, the German steel industry produced a total of 37.2 million tons of crude steel. Although this represents an increase of around 5 percent compared to the previous year, production volumes have remained below the 40-million-ton mark for the third consecutive year. As a result, the industry continues to operate at a level indicative of a recession.
Schneider Electric and Atmen Digitize H2 Certificates

Schneider Electric and the startup Atmen have entered into a strategic partnership for the certification of green hydrogen. The startup's certification platform aims to help manufacturers more easily comply with and certify EU criteria for green hydrogen and e-fuels. The software automatically documents electricity origin and CO₂ footprint.
H2med projects receive CEF funding totalling 35 million euros

On 30 January, the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) approved grants of around 35.5 million euros for the H2med project studies submitted as part of the CEF Energy Call 2024. H2med is Europe's first major corridor for green hydrogen, which will connect the national H2 core networks.
