SMS group awarded aluminum flat rolling mill order by Steel Dynamics

Steel Dynamics Inc., a North American steel producer and metals recycler, recently placed an order with SMS group for the supply of a new state-of-the-art aluminum flat rolling mill. It is meant for Aluminum Dynamics, LLC, a joint venture of Steel Dynamics Inc., and will be built in Columbus, Mississippi.

The digital components of this package include solutions based on artificial intelligence and machine learning. The SMS Data Factory Suite functions as the central data platform. It collects all plant data, evaluates it and forwards this information to the appropriate systems, for example, to optimize real-time dashboards for KPI and plant monitoring.

Seco/Warwick technology offers in-house hardening capabilities

An international organization in the field of industrial automation has ordered a Seco/Warwick heat treatment system with the goal of establishing a captive hardening plant within their machine park. This comprehensive technological line for hardening applications will consist of two Vector® vacuum furnaces. Furthermore an atmosphere furnace, and a washer are included.
